THE DIVISION OF COMPLEX COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES

Tel.: (812) 600-41-16 ext. 102

The Division of Complex Computer Technologies conducts research and development of information and innovative technologies in the field of physical culture and sports.

MAIN RESEARCH AREAS OF THE DIVISION:

- Study, development and creation of innovative and information technologies in physical culture and sports;
- Testing and implementation of developed technologies in the training and competitive processes of Olympic and Paralympic national teams;
- Application of the gas discharge visualization method in the sports training system;
- Scientific and methodological support for Olympic and Paralympic national teams;
- Development of methodological materials on the use of innovative and information technologies in physical culture and sports.

The research work of the division's staff is focused on studying, developing and creating innovative and information technologies in physical culture and sports, testing and implementing developed technologies in the training and competitive processes of Russian Olympic and Paralympic teams, presenting FSBI SPbNIIFK's achievements in computer and innovative technologies at Russian and international conferences, and publishing research results in Russian and international scientific publications and monographs.

One of the innovative technologies the division works with is the bioelectrography gas discharge visualization (GDV) method. The GDV method is currently one of the few rapid methods that reliably studies a person's physical, psycho-emotional and energy state.

The software and hardware complex based on the GDV method, developed by FSBI SPbNIIFK staff, allows assessing athletes' psychophysiological state and energy potential level both in preparatory and competitive periods. The method has been tested in the process of scientific and methodological support for athletes of Russian Olympic and Paralympic teams and is used in training and competitive processes. The method's software is constantly being developed.

Advantages of the GDV method:

  • Visualization and interpretability of obtained data, convenience of storage and processing;
  • Ability to track process development over time, compare structural, functional and temporal processes in the body;
  • Ability to work with people with disabilities;
  • Non-invasiveness, safety and complete sterility;
  • No special requirements for premises or environmental conditions;
  • Methodological simplicity and convenience;
  • Low cost of the examination itself.

Under the guidance of Professor K.G. Korotkov with the participation of FSBI SPbNIIFK specialists and a number of organizations from Tomsk, the "Biokor" device (LLC "Spinor", Tomsk) was developed, which is designed to correct energy state and reduce stress levels through the combined influence of music therapy and extremely high frequency (EHF) signal.

The methodology is based on the GDV method, using the "Bio-Well" device and online information processing to analyze an athlete's individual frequency spectrum of body functioning. Based on this information, an individual music file is created, which is recorded on a computer's hard drive and can be copied to any digital media. The frequency spectrum is fed to the specialized "Biokor" device, where it is used to modulate the EHF signal. The use of extremely high frequency for correcting human functional state was proposed within the framework of research works of the Institute of Radio Electronics of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the late 1980s, conducted under the general guidance of Academician Nikolai Dmitrievich Devyatkov.

The impact of the "Biokor" device signal is absolutely safe for people of any age with any health condition.

In 2006, A.K. Korotkova defended her Ph.D. dissertation in specialty 13.00.04 - theory and methodology of physical education, sports training, health-improving and adaptive physical culture (psychological sciences): "The method of bioelectrography gas discharge visualization in studies of psychophysiological state of qualified athletes".

In collaboration with the staff of the Division of Modern Technologies for Training Athletes in Winter Sports during 2010-2011, the following were developed: a device for measuring ski jumper's jump length and a technique for controlling jump technique and fixing the landing point in ski jumping (within the framework of state contracts of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism). As a result of this work, a utility model patent was obtained.

The division's staff actively participate in the work of complex scientific groups, providing scientific and methodological support for Paralympic teams of St. Petersburg and Russia in various disciplines.
