XII International Congress "Sport, People and Health"

From April 16 to 18, 2025, St. Petersburg hosted the XII International Congress "Sport, People and Health".

This year, the Congress united an audience of about 500 in-person speakers from 28 countries worldwide. Approximately 9,000 listeners joined the Congress broadcasts online. A total of 248 reports were presented at sectional and plenary sessions, with 13 proposals submitted to the final resolution. Over 1,100 people attended in-person discussions at round tables, plenary sessions, and master classes.

A representative delegation from the FSBI "St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture" participated in the Congress, led by the Institute's Director, Sergey Alekseevich Vorobyov, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.

At the section "Pedagogical and Scientific-Methodological Aspects of Sports for All and Mass Physical Culture," St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture Director Sergey Alekseevich Vorobyov, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, participated as one of the leaders.

Within this section, Dmitry N. Pukhov, Head of the Physical Rehabilitation and Health Technologies Sector; Anna V. Tsareva, Senior Researcher, PhD in Economics; Andrey I. Grebennikov, Senior Researcher, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences; and Alexander V. Malinin, Researcher, presented a poster report titled "The Influence of Family on the Formation of Schoolchildren's Physical Activity."

At the section "Current Issues of Adaptive Physical Culture and Sports in the Global Sports Movement," Sergey Alekseevich Vorobyov, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Professor Evgenia Sergeevna Naboychenko, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, delivered a report on "Rehabilitation of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders Through Sports."

Also at this section, co-reporters Anna L. Lebedeva, Senior Researcher, PhD in Psychological Sciences, and Leonid V. Vinokurov, Head of the Sector for Systemic Research of Sports Mastery Formation, Senior Researcher, PhD in Psychological Sciences, presented a report on "Research Methods and Evaluation of Starts and Turns in Paralympic Swimming." Additionally, L.V. Vinokurov, together with postgraduate student Daria A. Dyachenko, presented a report on "Scientific-Methodological and Practical Aspects of Developing and Implementing a Methodology for Teaching Adaptive Surfing to Children with Musculoskeletal Disorders." A fourth report from the St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture, titled "Functional Capabilities of Muscles in Elite Athletes with Intellectual Disabilities and Visually Impaired Athletes," was presented by a team of authors: Tatiana V. Krasnoperova, Head of the Adaptive Physical Culture and Sports for Persons with Disabilities Sector, PhD in Biological Sciences; Natalia B. Lukmanova, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Senior Researcher; and Margarita V. Bystrova, Junior Researcher.


 

At the section "Pedagogical and Scientific-Methodological Aspects of Elite Sports and Sports Reserve Training," a team of authors—Deputy Director of the Institute, Natalia B. Novikova, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences; Researcher Irina G. Ivanova and Junior Researcher Anna N. Belyova; and Elizaveta A. Yanina—presented a report titled "Automation of Data Collection on Cross-Country Skiers' Competitive Performance for Analyzing Distance Tactics."

At the section "Medical-Biological Support for Athletes' Training," Yaroslav V. Golub, Head of the Sports Physiology Sector at the St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture, PhD in Medical Sciences, and Junior Researcher E.V. Ageev presented a report on "A Technological Approach to Assessing Components of Psychophysiological Compatibility in Rhythmic Gymnastics."

A second report from the St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture at this section was presented by Natalia D. Goldberg, Head of the Sports Biochemistry Sector, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor; Elena V. Shapot; and Natalia B. Kotelevskaya, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Researcher, on the topic "Genetic Markers of Flexibility and Artistic Gymnastics."

At the section "Innovative Projects and Advanced Practices Aimed at Harmonious Personality Development, Training, and Professional Development of Specialists in Physical Culture and Sports in Modern Sociocultural Conditions," a report titled "Perceptions of Students Receiving Physical Education and Sports Training on the Advantages and Disadvantages of a Professional Career in Sports" was presented by Sergey Alekseevich Vorobyov, Director of the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Physical Culture, Associate Professor, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, and Andrey G. Gretsov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Leading Researcher. A poster report titled "Opportunities and Challenges of the Labor Market in Physical Culture and Sports in Conditions of Low Unemployment" was presented by Anna V. Tsareva, PhD in Economics, Senior Researcher, and Natalia A. Breider, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor.

 

 

In total, staff of the St. Petersburg Scientific-Research Institute for Physical Culture presented 10 reports at the XII International Congress "Sport, People and Health."
